About Diego

Diego is thrilled to be a part of the Simply Music family! A passionate music educator and choral/musical theater vocal director, Diego currently teaches General Music, Choir, Drama, and Madrigals at Timber Ridge Middle School in Plainfield, where he also directs the annual spring musicals— featuring works like Peter Pan Jr. and The Little Mermaid. He holds both a degree in K-12 Music Education and M.Ed. in Trauma Informed Practices from North Central College, where he was also a long-term leader in the college's choral, instrumental, and Speech & Debate programs.

Outside the classroom, Diego has served as Head Music Director for Heathers the Musical (2024–2025) and Little Shop of Horrors (2025–2026) with the Joliet Drama Guild at Bicentennial Park. A Golden Apple Scholar and CAPE Teacher of the Year nominee, Diego is committed to fostering creativity, confidence, and community through the performing arts.

When he's not directing or teaching, Diego enjoys going outside with friends, writing, and coaching competitive Speech & Debate high school & college students. Much love to his students, mentors, and loved ones for their constant inspiration.
