Meet the Teachers
Heather has been teaching piano and voice for over twenty years and is passionate about empowering students to boldly share their love of music, which is the mission of Simply Music.
She and her husband Caleb performed more than 1000 live shows with their band Daniel's Window for much of the past two decades.
In her role as studio director, Heather is committed to giving each studio family a warm, loving environment where students can thrive.
Heather loves Starbucks, scary movies, Stephen King novels, and travel and resides in Joliet with her husband and two children, Hayden and Lincoln.
Studio Director, Piano, & Voice
Caleb has spent the majority of his life playing and performing music.
After studying music in college, his went on to tour the US in the band Daniel’s Window for well over a decade.
His teaching style incorporates practical skills for all musicians, as well as targeted, goal-oriented lessons that encourage each student to dream big and achieve their desires.
He is a songwriter, educator, visual artist, and storyteller.
An avid fan of all things Star Wars, Caleb considered life as a Jedi, but was too old to begin the training. Bring him an iced mocha, and he will love you forever.

Marissa has been playing music for over 20 years and has a passion for playing and teaching.
She graduated from Elmhurst University with her Bachelors in Music Performance and graduated from Roosevelt University with her Masters in Music Performance. She studied both flute and piano under many world renowned musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as well as Marie Tachouet (Principal Flautist of the Lyric Opera), Eugenia Moliner (Co-Founder and Flautist of the Cavatina Duo), Dr. Jennie O Brown (Founder and Flautist of Picosa), and Dr. Soyoung Kee (Solo Performer and Chair of the Piano department at Elmhurst University).
Marissa was the Principal Flautist of the Elmhurst University’s Wind Ensemble. She won the Concerto Competition as well as the Honor Recitals for both Solo and Chamber Groups. Marissa has also participated in and led many flute choirs at Elmhurst University as well as becoming one of the first students to join Elmhurst University’s New Music Ensemble.
In her free time Marissa loves to dance, go to the gym to lift or do pilates, relax on the couch with her two dogs Mini and Mia, read books (one of the biggest book nerds you will ever meet!), and game. She is always looking for new book recommendations or the newest video games leaks.
Marissa is thrilled to be able to do what she loves most, spreading the joy of music to as many people as she can and implementing her experiences to help educate the next generation of musicians!
Flute & Piano
Clara Leo graduated from Wheaton College, where she studied voice and piano and received a Bachelor of Arts in music. Throughout her life, she has enjoyed exploring many different styles of music, from classical to jazz to folk. Her favorite composers are Frederic Chopin and Samuel Barber. During her time at Wheaton, she gained depth and breadth of experience participating in both choral music and Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Georgian (the country, not the state) vocal chamber music. Furthermore, she had the opportunity to participate in the Wheaton College Concerto Competition, as well as the annual competition through the National Association of Teachers of Singing (in which she was in the top 3 in her division).
In addition to her passion for music, Clara has many hobbies such as cooking, baking, knitting, running, reading and writing poetry, caring for her abundance of house plants, and telling people what Hogwarts houses she thinks they belong in.
Piano, Voice, & Ukulele
Mick has been playing guitar for over 20 years. He loves spending time with his three children and wife of 15 years.
For over a decade, he has been the worship pastor at Crossroads Christian Church in Joliet, where he leads the church's music programs and works with area musicians on a weekly basis.
Mick is always quick with a dad joke, and he thinks most clearly with copious amounts of coffee.
Some of his favorite musicians include Jack Johnson, Damien Jurado, and Bon Iver.
Guitar & Ukulele
Logan Stefanich has over 13 years of keyboard-playing experience, as well as working with other musicians and playing for his church on a weekly basis.
He is currently in his last semester at the University of Saint Francis, where he will graduate with a degree in music and Audio Engineering.
In his free time, Logan loves to sit and write music, and 'jam' with fellow musicians. His favorite artists are The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd.
Rose’s love of music started at the age of 8 when she began playing piano as well as violin in her grade school orchestra. Throughout high school, she participated in other outside ensembles including the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra at Lewis University and Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra where she was awarded concertmaster for both.
Rose graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. She is a creative, passionate and sincere educator and musician who brings music alive in her teaching.
Violin, Viola, & Piano
Courtney has been playing piano and violin for over 9 years. She is currently concertmaster of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra and has also participated in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras.
In her free time, she loves to compose and enjoys cooking up new flavorful dishes. Her favorite composer is Brian Crain and her favorite movie is the musically sensational "Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium."
Courtney always strives to make music both meaningful and magical through her creative spirit.

John Saffrahn graduated from Joliet Junior College with his Associates degree in music and is currently getting his Bachelors degree in audio engineering from the University of St. Francis.
