Can I enroll at any time?

Enroll any time of the year! We are always happy to welcome new students to our Simply Music family! You may start lessons at any time of the year and pause enrollment as needed. We’ll gladly pro-rate tuition or schedule makeup classes if you start lessons partway through the month.

Once enrolled, we’ll keep you enrolled until you tell us you need to pause or withdraw. No need to constantly fill out forms to re-enroll. We want to keep things easy and convenient for you.

If you need to make a scheduling change, class change, or teacher change, just let us know by emailing us at info@simplymusicstudios.com , or by calling our office at 779-379-2437. We’re always glad to help.

What's included in my tuition?

Your tuition is for everything that is included with enrollment here at Simply Music — 44 weekly lessons for the year plus all of the special events, contests, awards program, and Red Carpet Recitals planned for our students. And then of course, there’s also all the love, time, and effort your teacher puts in as well!

How does tuition work?

Simply Music offers a hassle-free automated payment system. Your tuition is automatically billed on the 1st of each month to your credit or debit card on file.  When you're charged for tuition, we will immediately email a receipt to you.

Since enrollment is ongoing, tuition is due each month for as long as a student is enrolled. Tuition is non-refundable. The total amount of tuition for the year has been divided into 12 equal payments for easier budgeting. This monthly amount is not tied to the number of classes or lessons in a given month, but rather is 1/12th of the total cost for the year.

A non-refundable registration fee of $50 (per family, not per student) will be charged at the time of enrollment for new students. After that, an annual registration fee of $50 will be charged in September of each year. This is an all-inclusive fee that covers various recital and performance events fees as well as registration processing.

You can also check your current balance and change your class at our Parent Portal.

What happens if I have to miss a lesson? What is your makeup policy?

We want to emphasize that regular attendance at lessons is a vital part of each student’s progress, motivation, and overall learning experience. Just as we encourage consistent daily practice, we also encourage you to be consistent with your lesson attendance. Each 30-minute lesson is reserved exclusively for you, ensuring that time is fully dedicated to your musical growth.

Instead of rescheduling missed lessons by teaching makeup lessons, we offer several makeup options. Here are your options:

Option 1 – Digital Lesson Assignment

If you miss a lesson, you can still benefit from your reserved time by requesting a Digital Lesson Assignment from your teacher.

  • Your teacher will use your scheduled lesson time to create a customized assignment for you.

  • The assignment will be sent directly to your email, allowing you to continue progressing at home.

Option 2 – Online Lesson

If you know in advance that you can’t attend in person, you can pre-arrange to have your lesson online at your regular time.

  • Whenever possible, please provide at least 8 hours’ notice so your teacher can prepare accordingly.

  • This is a great option for times when the weather is bad, transportation is difficult, or your child isn’t feeling well but still wants to learn from home.

In-Person Makeup Lessons

In-person makeup lessons will be offered in the following situations:

  • Teacher absence – If your teacher needs to cancel, a makeup lesson will always be scheduled.

  • Certain holidays and events – We offer makeup lessons for:

    • Labor Day

    • Memorial Day

    • Halloween

    • When a lesson conflicts with a Red Carpet Recital Day

What happens in case of bad weather or if my teacher is ill or needs to reschedule?

What happens in inclement weather?

Any weather closing information for Simply Music will be posted on our studio Facebook site, as well as confirmed via email or text.  Assume that we are remaining open for lessons or classes unless we announce differently.

You also have the option of setting up a online lesson with your teacher if you are not comfortable coming in-person because of the weather.

.

As always, your safety is our top concern. Please be safe and use your own discretion to decide when to travel based on conditions in your area or your driving route.

What happens if my teacher is unwell?

If your teacher is unable to join class because of health concerns, they will update you at least 90 minutes prior to class by email and text message. In such a case, the teacher will make every effort possible to choose a day and time that works for you later that week or month.

What if the teacher reschedules a lesson?

Though rare, there may be times when a teacher needs to reschedule a class. In such a case, the teacher will make every effort possible to choose a day and time that works for you later that week or month.

How much should I practice at home?

Practice requirements and goals will vary according to teacher assignments and student levels. Students taking instrumental lessons need an instrument in the home on which to practice.

How much should parents be involved?

Parental support is crucial to the success of each student. To keep parents informed, we regularly communicate via email or flyers. Students in vocal or instrumental lessons also have an assignment notebook to facilitate communication between studio and home.

How much will I spend on books and supplies?

Students taking instrumental or vocal lessons can expect about $45-55 of music expenses throughout the year. Notification of bills for music or extra supplies is sent by the studio as needed. These book and supplies fees will be applied to your account and charged the following week the books are received.

What if I need to pause or cancel?

We understand that circumstances can change for families impacting your ability to participate in live instruction.

If you need to pause or cancel your enrollment, please send us written notice prior to the 1st of the month. (If notice is received after the 1st of the month, the tuition for the current month will still be charged.)

Please send your written notice via our online form.

Registration fees are non-refundable.
