Meet our Musical Theater Director, Jennifer!

Jennifer Corp holds a State of Illinois Teaching License, a Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University, and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music. Throughout her 20+ year career, she has conducted and taught all levels of Choral/Vocal Music, from Kindergarten through Professional and Amateur Adults. [Learn More]
AUDITIONS

The first two days of rehearsal (July 7 - 8), the director will teach all participants everything they need to know for auditions. Auditions will then be held in class on July 9. Don't worry, everyone gets a part!

REHEARSALS
​
We understand that every performer has other commitments from time to time. We will ask for a list of your schedule conflicts prior to the start of rehearsals, so the director can schedule rehearsals accordingly.
​
Rehearsals will be held every morning from 9am - 12pm at Simply Music New Lenox, 164 W Illinois Hwy.

What's it about?

Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Jr. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.

Performers may not miss more than 3 rehearsals and also understand that attendance is mandatory during Tech Week and all performances.​
Being in a show is making a commitment to the production and the other people in it. Being on time to rehearsals is a great way to honor that commitment to other cast members, as well as attending rehearsals.​​
